Consolidate Credit Card Debt

Consolidate credit card debt in order to get rid of harassing phone calls and in order to get your financial life back in order. When you choose to consolidate credit debt you are choosing to let someone help you get your financial life back into order. This will consist of them calling your creditors and trying to negotiate new payments for you to pay back to them. From that point on you will be working with the debt consolidation company instead of your credit card company.

What Happens?

Your accounts will be frozen, but not closed. They will not be closed until the debt is paid as either you agreed or until the payment terms have been met for the consolidations firm. You will not have access to those accounts any more. Do not stress, this is a good thing. By not having that credit card you are one step closer to financial freedom.

When Is It Over?

You are done with your debt program once all of the bills that you included are paid off. These payoffs may be less than the original charged amounts, allowing you to clear the debt faster. In most cases debt consolidation companies try to get you out of debt in two to three years but it can be as high as five if you have significant debts. Work with your counselor in order to find the best repayment plan for you. Your individual financial situation will decide what the best plan of attack is.
